SPINACH We all know the virtues of spinach, but did you know that some of the best varieties in the world were developed here in the Pacific Northwest? Here are a few of these tasty varieties. (growing tips)

Jive Spinach - Extra thick dark green spoon shaped leaves. Upright habit, disease resistant and blemish free make this spinach a great choice for salad.
Norfolk Spinach - An heirloom variety of spinach originally from Quebec. Dark green, savoyed leaves and good bolt resistance when grown in early spring or late summer.
Oriental Giant Hybrid Spinach - Heavy producer, begin harvesting as baby spinach 2-3 weeks after sowing. 12-15 inches tall. Resistant to bolting and mildew.
Summer Perfection Spinach - Excellent new Dutch variety that is super sweet and exceptionally long standing. Upright flat leaves for easy harvesting.
Teton Spinach - Heat-tolerant small-leaved spinach. Dark green smooth oval leaves are held upright. Great for clipping frequently. The best baby spinach variety.
Tyee Spinach - An exordinarily tasty variety with thick, dark green, semi-savoyed leaves. Plus it is resistant to mildew so it is a great choice for winter, slow to bolt, it grows tall and upright for easy harvest.
Winter Giant Spinach - Spinach variety that was developed for overwintering, but does well any time of year. The smooth, large leaves are semi-savoyed and medium green.
